Current Situation Faced By The Retailer:

The retail shop has four employees, two of which are casuals. The shop site was new and the existing tenant had never previously had a business phone system installed, so they had only one phone line and a cordless phone. However, they needed more than one phone line and wanted to give a more professional impression.

Mobile communication for the store

They opted for 1 fixed location desk phone for the back office and 1 cordless handset on the shop floor. This way they can answer a call on the floor if required, transfer, put the caller on hold while they check stock and do almost everything they can from their desk phone..

Better call handling during the day

There are so many great features that come free with a SpringCom Hosted pbx, and Auto Attendant is just one of them. Now staff don't have to stop a call to answer another, or interrupt a sale, the Auto Attendant now answers after 4 rings and says "Thank you for calling ABC Supplies, your call is important and we will be with you in a moment". This ensures they never miss calls, and it sounds incredibly professional.

What about after hours?

The Auto Attendant now professionally answers calls after hours as well. The system can even answer multiple calls at once and callers leave messages that the manager listens to every morning.

No maintenance required

The SpringCom Hosted pbx is a fully managed phone system, no matter what package you opt for. This means the retail business can call the Australia based SpringCom support team any time to help with any changes they want to make to their system e.g. add new on-hold messages or setup diversions to the owners mobile as needed, and there are no ad-hoc costs for this!

Voicemail for after hours and during the day

The SpringCom Hosted also comes with free voicemail. This has helped the store when suppliers and accounts payable call. The employee that handles the accounts and orders (amongst other things) is only in 2 days a week. Staff are now able to transfer calls to her desk phone and it goes straight to her voicemail. What's more, the incredible technology allows for voicemails to be sent directly to the staff member's email address, meaning that they can now access their voicemails from wherever they are!

Personal voicemail works in exactly the same way as it does on your mobile phone. Callers hear a personalised greeting and are invited to leave a message. You can then access these greetings, save them, replay, forward or delete them as necessary.

Now when the person is in the store on Mondays and Fridays, they are able to retrieve the voicemail messages and deal with them then. No more missed messages and the suppliers leave detailed messages. It also frees the floor staff up to get on with their jobs and not play receptionist whilst there are waiting paying customers!

Speed Dialling

The system, even the integrated cordless phones, allow them to easily access all their frequently dialled supplier contacts. There are so many suppliers, and they had a list at the till of all their numbers but it was so easy for them to read and dial the wrong one! So the staff can now find who they are trying to call at the push of a button.

Sounding more professional

Here we installed Professional Messages On Hold - this capped off the solution and made their business sound incredibly professional. The messages talk about their extensive range and helps to cross promote and up sell their lesser known products. If they choose not to use the Professional Messages, they can always call up the team and change this to music on hold.

Cutting costs

As the SpringCom solution just needs an internet connection to work and uses VoIP to make and receive calls we were able to offer then fantastic call rates that came with:
