The handset can do everything from adjustable ring tones, to inbuilt headset jack, to a local call log just like your mobile phone.  The Avaya 5420 phone handset was designed as the reception/ manager model in the 5400 series and offers the largest screen and the most functionality. 

All that said, the most impressive feature of the Avaya 5420 phone may be the fact that you may never use it.  When you use the Avaya 5420 phone with the software available on the Avaya IP Office 500 phone system it will change the way you work.

The Avaya One-X portal software is incredible and gives you a virtual phone system on your computer screen. When a call comes in you can see on screen who's calling and click the mouse if you would like to take it, transfer it, divert it to voicemail etc. This is the future of Avaya telephony for medium sized and corporate business and you'll wonder how you ever worked without it! Please note that the Avaya 5420 phone is from the previous series of digital handsets.  It is no longer available to purchase new.  The equivalent replacement would be the Avaya 1416 phone or in the premium digital series you would be looking at the Avaya 9508 phone. 

The Avaya 5420 phone  is compatible with all Avaya IP Office 403, 406v2, and 412 processors running software version 3.0.  It is also compatible with the Avaya IP Office 500 phone system.
