LG Ericsson LIP-9070 Phone (Premium Video Phone)

This is the flagship model from the latest LG Ericsson IP phones. It looks amazing and offers not only video capability but also a 7" TFT colour display with Capacitive Touch screen. When you think of the future, this is it. The cheaper LIP-8050V also offers video but with a smaller, non touch screen. With the LIP-9070 phone (and the 8050V) you can video conference on screen to another LIP-9070 handset, an LIP-8050V as well as using the Phontage software on your staff PC's. For 90% of customers, they will never use the video component of the LIP-9070 and the extra expense does not warrant this in your handset selection.

Using the Ericsson LG LIP-9070 premium IP handset is simple thanks to the on screen touch operations. The huge screen (for a phone) is one of the largest you'll find and make it very easy to use indeed. It goes without saying that all the functionality you'd expect is available on the LIP-9070 like full duplex HD quality speakerphone so you can talk hands free with the best quality IP audio quality. Like all 8000 series handsets the LIP-9070 phoneis able to connect anywhere that offers a LAN connection. Unlike other IP handsets the huge colour screen does require a separate power connection even if you are running POE (Power over Ethernet).

For most offices, unless you get a video intercom, your best bet is to look to the cheaper models as they still offer the same phone functionality. The LIP-8040L phonefor example still has the same soft keys you'd expect from an IP handset. Soft keys are buttons next to the screen on the phone that display labels on screen when they are programmed. The cheaper models like the LIP-8024D and LIP-8012D phone phone both have consoles down the side that you print labels with names for frequently dialled numbers or common functions. They don't dynamically update on screen but this is more than adequate for many customers when they weigh up the cost and benefits.

The LG Ericcson LIP-9070 phone are compatible with the new LG Ericsson iPECS phone systems (LG iPECS 50, LG iPECS 100, iPECS 300, 600 and 1200) as well as the small business LG Ericsson iPECS SBG-1000. As a cheaper alternative for staff that may not need a premium handset you should also consider the cheaper LIP-8040L phone and the popular LIP-8012D.
