The Panasonic KX-DT346AL handset is the premium model in the Panasonic DT300 digital series. The other cheaper model is the KX-T333AL. They look almost the same and the only differences are that this KX-DT346AL model offers users a larger 6 line display (vs. 3 line on the KX-DT333AL) and a very handy blacklit screen. The large screen, by Panasonic standards anyway, is also great as it allows for easier handset and system feature navigation and general use. The reality is that the KX-DT333AL is not only cheaper but also a better option for most staff anyway. As with all Panasonic phones their trademark signature is the overwhelming ease of use.
24 Customisable Buttons That Make Daily Use A Breeze
The KX-DT346AL is offers users 24 programmable buttons with multi-colour LED indicator lights (red and green). For most applications 24 is more than enough and only managers and receptionists may need to add the Panasonic KX-DT390AL 60 DSS Console which provides an extra 60 buttons for 84 in total. The reality is if you need more than that you'd be better off with the Panasonic operator console which is PC based and a lot more efficient for high volume answering points.
The KX-DT346AL handsets 24 buttons can be customised to each staff member and can be programmed to display any combination of staff presence, phone lines, door releases, paging, or even one touch speed dials for frequently dialled customers and suppliers. A lot of other manufacturer's digital phones now offer paperless inserts but the KX-DT346AL handset still requires this. Only the premium Panasonic KX-NT366X IP phone offers this but you really do pay a premium for it.
Black or White -KX-NT307X Bluetooth It's Up To You.
Like the other Panasonic DT300 series handset, and most of the other series also, the Panasonic KX-DT346AL telephone comes with a colour choice of either white or black to suit your office aesthetic.

The 6 line 24 character display is large by most standards and only in premium IP handsets would you find, or need, anything larger with their advanced XML open applications that act like a web browser on your desk phone.
Intelligent Feature Keys That Keep You One Step Ahead
The KX-DT346AL also offers 4 contextual keys that are located directly below the large screen. These are designed to intelligently help users in call handling and day-to-day use. The phone system interprets what you're doing and then logically present the best options on screen for you. It really does make phones with this feature much easier to use over traditional digital handsets.
Hands Free Communication and Other Features
With the Panasonic KX-DT346AL phone you also get hands free speakerphone, fixed function buttons that cover everyday features like voicemail access, conference calling, transfer, hold etc as well as a 2.5mm headset jack. If you are using wireless headsets you will not need to use the jack (only for corded options) or you can choose the optional Bluetooth module however this really isn't required for 90% of wireless office headsets anyway.
The Navigator Makes Access Faster
At the bottom right of the KX-DT346AL phone you'll also notice a silver navigator jog dial. The multidirectional navigator and buttons accompanying it make it much faster for users to access speed dial, directory dials, incoming/outgoing call logs and other Panasonic phone system features and functions. If you're a serious phone user then this makes life easier.
It must be said that telephones like the KX-DT 346 AL are not only a cheaper alternative to IP handsets (as they contain no network switch capabilities) but they can also be a much better option. In most Panasonic phone system deployments we'd be surprised if less than 10% of user's actually needed, or benefited, from IP phones. You should really only really consider Panasonic IP handsets for:
Beyond that, digital handsets like the KX-DT346AL or the KX-DT333AL phones are smarter, and most definitely, cheaper alternative.
As with all the Panasonic TDA30AL, TDE200, TDE600, NCP500 and NCP1000 office phone system range you can choose any combination of IP, Digital, Wireless or Analogue handsets from the entire Panasonic phone range. If you're looking for an equivalent level VoIP (IP) phone then you should check out the virtually identical KX-NT343X IP telephone or the premium Panasonic KX-NT366X IP phone.
