Keeping Your Sennheiser Headset Hygienic

It’s recommended that, if you use your headset for a full working day, you wash the earpads using a small amount of soap at least once a week. For the leather ear pads, you can simply use a damp cloth or hygienic wipes to give them a gentle clean.

It’s also recommended that the ear pads are replaced every 6 months to maintain optimum hygiene and sound quality. (Hygiene covers are available as extra accessories)

You can clean the entire headset with either a damp cloth or hygienic wipes. The cable should also be cleaned every so often as certain substances can make them brittle over time, such as grease, dirt, and dust.

Every Sennheiser headset for Contact Center Office (CC&O) uses Sennheiser Activegard® technology, which helps protect its users against acoustic injury that can be caused by a sudden burst of loud noise on the line.

Connecting And Disconnecting The Headset

There is an Easy Disconnect (ED) plug on every Sennheiser headset, which will connect them to desk phones. In order to disconnect from the ED plug, just press the light gray button in the middle of the plug. While you can disconnect the ED plug without pressing the button, doing so will increase its lifetime. The two plugs easily connect back together when you want to use the headset again.

Premium Sound Quality

There are 2 options that can help to ensure clear sound transmission:

  1. The Microphone – transmits your voice to the customer. It should be about 2/3 centimeters away from your mouth in order to give the best sound quality for the caller. An optional accessory that may help is a “pop shield”, which helps prevent any popping noises when you speak, after it has been attached to the microphone.
  2. Connecting directly to the desk phone – this way you can adjust the volume on the phone.


There are 2 available accessories that you can use to properly store your Sennheiser headset:

  1. Disconnect the headset from the phone cord and store it in a storage bag.
  2. Disconnect the headset from the phone cord and hang it on a holder that attaches to the side of your computer screen.
