Previous products have suffered, not because of poor performance but because of the\u00a0mediocre environment and idealistic expectations.<\/p>\n<p>This fact sheet is not here to dissuade you from using DECT, WiFi or any other wireless technologies, in fact we believe that the more pertinent the information you have the more successful your sales will be. So let us start with some basics;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>DECT and WiFi are radio technologies.<\/li>\n<li>Radio uses magnetic waves to carry information between a transmitter and a receiver.<\/li>\n<li>Any ferrous metal and\/or anything that can conduct electricity will affect these magnetic waves.<\/li>\n<li>Anything solid, dense or thick will impede these waves. I.E. a brick fireplace<\/li>\n<li>When we talk about range we assume best case not worse case.<\/li>\n<li>Best case may be an impractical dream but worse case rarely happens and can be avoided.<\/li>\n<li>Average distance for WiFi is 75meters and 40meters for DECT.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Major obstacles to installing the iPECS SBG 1000 pbx and DECT handets<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following is a list of type of things which may affect range when deploying DECT. Remember to look on both sides of the wall:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Corrugated Iron<\/li>\n<li>Microwave ovens<\/li>\n<li>Fire places<\/li>\n<li>Refrigerators<\/li>\n<li>Distance<\/li>\n<li>Television sets<\/li>\n<li>High voltage electrical cabling<\/li>\n<li>Chain mesh fencing<\/li>\n<li>Welding equipment<\/li>\n<li>Tinted glass<\/li>\n<li>Filing cabinets\/compactus<\/li>\n<li>Thick brick or concrete walls<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Where to mount the Ericsson LG iPECS SBG-1000 phone system for premium signal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ideally when DECT and\/or WiFi are required the Ericsson LG iPECS SBG-1000 phone system central unit will be installed in a central location on an internal plasterboard wall or shelf between 1.8 and 2.4 meters from the floor.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Power and cabling access is mandatory.<\/li>\n<li>Not so high that the Ericsson LG iPECS SBG-1000 phone system cannot be maintained.<\/li>\n<li>Not in roof space due to excessive heat and dust.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Line of sight is an important component in the reliability of radio (RF) environments. Every obstacle that prevents you seeing the transmitter from the receiver is a potential hazard.<\/p>\n<p>The most central location is not necessarily the most practical solution. In some cases there is nothing to mount the Ericsson LG iPECS SBG-1000 phone system to so we would locate the Ericsson LG iPECS SBG-1000 pbx on a nearby wall to optimise coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes it may be necessary to complete a site survey to identify the best location for the Ericsson-LG iPECS SBG-1000 phone system to be installed. Site surveys are usually invoiced depending on the arrangement you have with your installer.
