VoIP Phone Systems is the term used to describe phone systems that make calls via the internet (instead of traditional copper phone lines). However, if you do not have a good enough internet connection to run VoIP calls yet, you can have a system that is VoIP Ready. These are known as hybrid systems. This means that if a high speed data connection is not available to you now, then you can still connect over the traditional copper lines. Then, when better data is available you simply plug your phone system into the internet instead and take advantage of VoIP. This allows you to migrate any time you are ready to, without having to upgrade your equipment (just the licences).
